South Vancouver Island Anglers Coalition (SVIAC) is thrilled to present the 2024 Alpine Juan de Fuca Fishing Tournament. The event features a large all cash prize board and with a $20,000 top prize!
This revised-format fishing tournament is the first “restart” of the historic Juan de Fuca Salmon Tournament formerly sponsored by Stew Young, the Alpine Group and many others local companies. Originally administered by George Wetherell and then South Vancouver Island Anglers Coalition, the last running of the event occurred in 2017. We are honoured to work with Stew Young, the Alpine Group and GFL our major sponsors to bring this to the South Island angling community again.
With the increased need for funding to support the SVIAC Chinook Sea Pen Enhancement program, both in existing Sooke Basin and future identified sites, the tournament organizers believe this event will be popular, strongly supported by the angling community and a vehicle to raise significant salmon enhancement dollars.
